![]() ![]() He knew he had to remain calm if they were going to make it through. The skipper had seen his fair share of storms, but this one seemed relentless. The boat was being tossed about like a toy in an angry sea, threatening to capsize at any moment. The wind howled and the waves crashed around them. No matter how difficult or stressful things may get, I have faith that we can all come together and work towards a better outcome if we remain positive and focused on our ultimate goal- no matter what kind of chaos surrounds us! It is better to listen to the advice of people who have already been through it, rather than make the same mistakes again.īy reminding myself that I am capable and strong enough to handle whatever life throws at me, I stay calm even when everyone around me is panicking. Don't be proud to ask around for help in such a situation. Chances are that someone has had the same problem I am facing before. If I face a first-time situation I use my imagination to connect this with something I have seen, read, or heard about it. Even though it can be very difficult, I try hard not to allow fear or anger to take over me- and instead focus on staying positive so that we all have a better chance of finding our way out of whatever situation we're currently facing. ![]() I believe that the only way to stay calm when everyone else is panicking is by recognizing my own emotions and channeling them in a positive direction. I always try to not forget that you have the experience to overcome this situation and keep going. When everyone around me seems overwhelmed by fear or anger, I try hard not to get swept up in their emotional state – but also don't deny them support if needed either! Instead of getting angry at their reaction or trying to change them with logic only (which often isn't very successful), I validate their feelings first then move forward from there with solutions we can all agree upon as much as possible given our current circumstances. That doesn’t mean being overly optimistic or naive rather it means looking at the facts objectively and making rational decisions based on those facts. Then, instead of focusing on how bad things feel right now, I look for opportunities to make the situation better than before. I take a few deep breaths and remind myself that this too shall pass. Even though I know that keeping my cool is the best course of action, it can be difficult when emotions are running high and panic sets in. When there’s chaos around me, whether it be at work or during an emergency situation, I remind myself why being calm makes sense: It helps create solutions rather than more problems people are more likely to listen and accept advice from someone who isn’t frantic and panicking staying relaxed allows us all to think clearly so we can make good decisions quickly. But even then, I knew that if I stayed focused on the goal and kept a level head, things would turn out better for me. In my life, I’ve found myself in stressful situations where it was easy to succumb to fear or anger. I believe that staying calm when everyone is in panic and bringing the positive to every tough situation is one of the most important skills I can have. ![]()
